Position Overview
United States - (Remote)
The Head of Safety will define, implement, and oversee all aspects of safety strategy for autonomous delivery operations. This role requires a collaborative leader with the ability to work across engineering, product, and operations while engaging with regulators, partners, and industry stakeholders to ensure the highest standards of safety and trust.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute comprehensive safety strategies for autonomous delivery systems.
Lead safety assessments, audits, and risk management processes.
Establish and oversee best-in-class safety standards aligned with industry regulations.
Build and manage a safety and trust-focused team.
Collaborate across engineering, product, and operations to proactively address safety needs.
Oversee structured testing programs, facilities, and incident response protocols.
Communicate safety vision and performance to partners, regulators, and the public.
Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees and operators.
Investigate accidents or incidents, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
8+ years of experience in Automotive, Aerospace, Robotics, Transportation, or regulated industries.
Proven expertise in safety engineering and risk/reliability functions.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills.
Excellent communication skills with experience engaging regulators, partners, and cross-functional teams.
Background in autonomous technology strongly preferred.
Preferred Experience
Previous work in autonomous vehicle companies.
Strong understanding of fleet-level safety standards and operational best practices.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $190,000 - $250,000 (DOE).
